  Are users allowed to edit their profiles on the front end? More so, can they change their passwords and general information? We would like the user to update their own passwords, phone numbers, etc. is this possible?

  Yes, employees can update their own information from the frontend.
  And to change their password they must go to the backend. But there are no worries with security as employees have very limited access to the backend.
